The Old Dance Hall, She Ain't What She Used To Be



The Ocean Plaza dance hall was built in the mid-1940s, and featured many famous "Big Band" music groups. In the 1950s a man called "Chicken" Hicks gave birth to the popular southern dance called the "Shag", a smoother version of the Jitterbug, here.
